Orlando’s existing single-family homes sold better in October and condo values were up, but condo sales struggled and single-family values ticked down, Florida Realtors reported.
Association members sold 2,136 single-family homes last month, a 17 percent jump from the year prior’s 1,822. That was better than a month earlier, when sales were relatively flat year-over-year.
The median price of an existing single-family home was $127,800, 2 percent less than the $130,800 posted in October 2010.
Condo sales, however, dropped 23 percent last month, from 612 units sold in 2010 to 469 units sold in October of this year. The median price of an Orlando condo was up 16 percent in October, from $50,700 last year to $59,000 this year.
Statewide, sales of single-family homes and condos were up and 17 of Florida’s metropolitan statistical areas posted higher existing home sales in October.
Nationwide, existing-home sales rose 1.4 percent in October, from September, and are up 13.5 percent from October 2010, according to a report from the National Association of Realtors
